Douglas Jarman, a financial planning professional with over 35 years of experience, has a history of service by placing his client’s needs first. He specializes in providing clients retirement planning, education planning, tax planning, investment management, insurance planning, and estate planning.
Doug received a formal education with a Bachelor of Arts in Financial Planning and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Brigham Young University. Upon graduation, he joined a large, independent financial planning firm in Oakland, California as a financial analyst, eventually being promoted to Director of Analyst Operations. In 1981, he received the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) certification and joined Financial Planning Consultants as a part-owner. As a CFP® professional, he adheres to the Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice of the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc.
Over his many years in the business, Doug has spoken to various professional and community groups on retirement planning and its tax implications. He has written articles for various publications and has been interviewed on local and national TV regarding income tax planning for retirees, professionals, and corporate executives. He has also worked with various professional and community organizations. He served as a member of the adjunct faculty of the College for Financial Planning in Denver, Colorado, and served on the Ethics Committee and as Educational VP for the San Diego Chapter of the FPA. He also served as President and Chairman of the San Diego Chapter of the ICFP before its merging into the FPA. He is an active leader in the Boy Scouts of America and works with youth service and church groups.
Mr. Jarman is a Registered Principal and securities are offered through LPL Financial, a broker/dealer and member of FINRA/SIPC. Doug holds the Series 7, 24, and 63 securities registrations through LPL Financial. He is also a licensed life, health and variable annuity agent.
